Sigourney Weaver joins 'Body Art' with Isabelle Huppert, Denis Lavant, and David Cronenberg
So basically you've got the major elements of last year's two weirdest limousine flicks, Holy Motors and Cosmopolis, converging for Body Art, which also happens to be based on a Don DeLillo novel. Denis Lavant, David Cronenberg, and Isabelle Huppert are set to star in the film, which is pretty awesome in and of itself, but throw in the expected degree of craziness, plus the latest addition of Sigourney Weaver, and this is looking like a film to be watched very closely.
Weaver's role isn't clear, but we know the story follows a grieving performance artist (Huppert), struggling after her husband's suicide, who discovers a strange man upstairs in her home. He apparently changes his appearance each time they meet, which makes the role perfect for Lavant who shifted shape constantly in Holy Motors. Cronenberg is likely to play Huppert's husband in a rare acting performance.
Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love) is directing, with production to begin this summer. [Screen Daily]
