3. Stand Up Guys
While the chance to see Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, and Alan Arkin together on-screen in a gangster "up all night" comedy is worth the price of admission, Stand Up Guys also features a smartly-written story about bad men looking to go out on top.
2. Side Effects
Although it's not quite the grand finale some might expect to cap off Steven Soderbergh's career, Side Effects is a taut and puzzling erotic thriller that shows his utmost professionalism and consistent dedication to his craft.
1. Warm Bodies
The most entertaining version of Romeo & Juliet you're likely to see, Warm Bodies is a zombie romance sweet enough to melt the coldest heart. The script is funny and clever enough to freshen up two genres that sorely need it, while Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer make for a gorgeous pair, even though one is a rotting corpse.
DVD Pick of the Week: Celeste and Jesse Forever
Co-written by and starring Rashida Jones, she establishes herself as a force in front of and behind the camera with a clever and charming rom-com that explores the harsh realities of true love.
