While he's feverishly preparing to take Marvel's mutants into the far-flung future with X-men: Days of Future Past, Bryan Singer will first take all of us into the land of giants with Jack the Giant Slayer. So far the footage we've seen has been less than impressive, but the hope is that it's just lacking something in 2D and will be much better served with the added dimension.
The first clip has emerged, which shows a furious chase sequence between the massive giants and the King's army. Doesn't really seem like a fair fight, does it? Nicholas Hoult, fresh off melting a few hearts in Warm Bodies (and will also be in the next X-men flick), plays the titular hero, while Ian McShane loses his crown as the King. The giants are apparently so feral they're too busy fighting with one another to properly chase down their prey. It's a nice touch, actually. As a whole, this clip is the strongest we've seen from the film yet.
A new full trailer will hit tomorrow, and Warner Bros. have decided to unveil a good piece of it early. You can check that out below, as well. Jack the Giant Slayer opens on March 1st.
