Brad Pitt joins David Ayer's WWII tank film, 'Fury'

David Ayer has had it pretty good getting big names to star in his films, whether they be his many cop flicks or other ventures like The Fast and the Furious. Christian Bale, Denzel Washington, and Keanu Reeves have worked with him in the past, with Arnold Schwarzenegger leading his next effort, Ten. After securing a surprise hit with last year's End of Watch, Ayer began developing the WWII thriller, Fury, and now he's found his leading man in Brad Pitt.

After venturing onto the battlefield for Inglourious Basterds, Pitt will re-enlist for the war effort by playing one of five Americans in a tank called Fury, who are locked in battle with the Germans during the final days of WWII. Ayer will not only direct but pen the script, with filming set to begin this fall.

Pitt will be seen next in World War Z, which had a tumultuous production that saw repeated rewrites and a release date bumped from last December to next summer. [Deadline]
