If it hasn't become clear yet, Wally Pfister is calling in a few old friends for Transcendence, his anticipated directorial debut. The longtime cinematographer for Christopher Nolan already has him down as a producer, hence the veil of secrecy over everything. A few days ago he added The Dark Knight trilogy alum Morgan Freeman to the impressive cast, and now he's looking to add one more.
Cillian Murphy, who was awesome as The Scarecrow in all three Batman flicks, has Freeman, Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, and Paul Bettany in the film. What do we know about at this stage? Not a lot, other than that it's written by Jack Paglen and deals with a scientist who uploads his brain into a supercomputer after he's assassinated. Murphy is taking on one of the three male leads.
Transcendence opens on April 25th 2014.
