Following up on last year's hit cop drama, End of Watch, David Ayer decided to take on the WWII tank thriller, Fury, which he'll write and direct. The film took a big step forward when Brad Pitt took on the lead role, and his presence seems to have made it easier for another big name to join him.
Shia LaBeouf, who just yesterday signed to star with Robert De Niro in Spy's Kid, is in talks to play a soldier under Pitt's command in the war film. Set in 1945 at the tail end of WWII, the story centers on a 5-man American tank unit who are trapped behind enemy lines in Nazi Germany.
Filming on Fury begins in September for release on November 14th 2014.
