First trailer for 'The Best Man Holiday' starring Taye Diggs and Terrence Howard

Fans of Malcolm D. Lee's romantic comedy The Best Man have been waiting a long time for a sequel, like fourteen years to be exact. In that time most of film's terrific cast have gone on to bigger and better things, while Lee....well, he last directed the embarrassing Scary Movie 5. But all of that waiting has finally paid off as the gang is all back together again for the long-awaited follow-up, The Best Man Holiday, and the first trailer for it is here.

Picking up fifteen years after the last film, the Christmas-set story has Terrence Howard, Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Harold Perrineau, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa, and Regina Hall reprising their previous roles. Over the holiday they'll discover just how easy it is to reignite old rivalries and passions. The trailer is smart to harken back to the original and remind you what made it such a success, namely the beautiful cast and the heartfelt relationships between them.

The Best Man was one of the smartest, soulful urban comedies in recent memory. I'm not sold on the sequel yet, but to be honest I didn't think the first film would be any good until it completely won me over. The Best Man Holiday is set for November 15th.
