Vince Vaughn has 500 kids in new teaser for 'The Delivery Man'
The Canadian comedy Starbuck was one of Quebec's biggest hits, and made quite a splash on the festival circuit, where it nearly won the People's Choice Award in Toronto, and took home the "Most Popular Canadian Film" award in Vancouver. Here in America it barely registered a blip, although critics...like me for instance, loved it for the unexpected crowd-pleaser it turned out to be. Obviously it made quite the impression, because a remake was quickly ordered up, Vince Vaughn plopped into the lead role, and now we have the first teaser for The Delivery Man.
Vaughn stars as David, a likable but irresponsible guy whose sperm he donated in his younger years turned out to be prolific stuff, used to father 500 children he never knew existed. Now they've all gone public with their desire to meet the man who fathered them, but David is fighting it tooth and nail with the help of his lawyer buddy, played by Chris Pratt. Ken Scott co-wrote and directed the original film, and he's back to helm the remake as well, so hopefully it maintains the same level of heart and insight into the responsibilities of being a parent, rather than devolving into the usual level of silly raunch Vaughn is known for. It's hard to tell just which way the film will go based on this bit of footage.
Also starring Jack Reynor, Cobie Smulders, and Britt Robertson, The Delivery Man opens on November 20th.
