Details on Adam Scott's 'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' Character

There wasn't a lot of clamoring for a Hot Tub Time Machine sequel, even less so when John Cusack bailed on it in favor of...something or other. While Rob Corddry, Clark Duke, Craig Robinson, and even Chevy Chase will be back to reprise their roles, Adam Scott came aboard as an all-new character. That turns out to be true, but not completely so, as he does have a link to the character Cusack abandoned.

In a conversation with CraveOnline, Corddry revealed that Scott will be playing Cusack's son, and if it doesn't make sense it's because there are some time travel shenanigans involved...

Corddry: "Adam Scott is playing his son from 10 years in the future. His son that was conceived in 1986 on the night with Jenny Stedmeyer."

Corddry went on to add that the timeline has been screwed with so much that his character is now a billionaire who "practically owns New Orleans". Nothing on what's up with Robinson or Duke, or new addition Gillian Jacobs. Perhaps she'll play a version of Jenny Stedmeyer? I sense some Back to the Future mother/son awkwardness afoot.

Steve Pink is back to helm Hot Tub Time Machine 2, which we'll probably see in theaters some time next year.
