After months of considerable festival hype, Adam Wingard's home invasion horror You're Next hits theaters, and while our lovely reviewer Mae enjoyed it, I would probably go a step further and say it's one of the more enjoyable genre films we've seen this year. A big part of the reason is the ferocious breakout performance by Sharni Vinson as...well, it's best left unspoiled but she's terrific, and it looks like others are starting to take notice of just how bad ass he can be.
The folks over at Collider have learned that Vinson will join the all-female Expendables film being put together by producer Adi Shankar, the guy who gave us the Marvel short movies Dirty Laundry and Truth in Journalism. Vinson will join the previously cast Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff, making for a trio I would pay mucho bucks to see in anything, but especially in a film like this Dutch Southern is writing the script and while no details are available, the phrase "all-female Expendables" gives a pretty good idea of what to expect.
If Vinson looks familiar it's because she was the lead gal in Step Up 3D where she showed off some of her moves. Hopefully we'll get a title and a firm start date for soon.
