Bruce Willis Is 'The Prince'; Katee Sackhoff Finds 'Somnia'; Dave Bautista Rumored for Zombie Film
* Considering the curmudgeonly attitude Bruce Willis has had of late, the title of his latest film could be ironic. He'll star in The Prince, an action film from Andre Fabrizio and Red Dawn writer Jeremy Passmore, so please gauge expectations accordingly. Directed by Sarik Andreasyan, the $15M film centers on “a retired Las Vegas mob enforcer [who] is forced to return to the city and face his former enemies when his teenage daughter goes missing. Willis plays a man who has waited years for the enforcer to return, and a confrontation is inevitable." [Deadline]
*Unlike Willis, Katee Sackhoff is an action star on the rise after her co-starring turn in Vin Diesel's Riddick, which just took #1 at the box office. She also has that all-female Expendables film coming up, so she's on quite a roll right now. Sackhoff has been in Toronto for the premiere of the Mike Flanagan-directed horror film, Oculus, and now word breaks from the festival that she'll star in Flanagan's next project, Somnia. Written by Flanagan and Jeff Howard, the psych-horror is about an orphaned child whose dreams and nightmares manifest physically as he sleeps. [Deadline]
* Sackhoff's Riddick co-star, Dave Bautista, may be lining up his next film for when he's finished on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. A rumor has sprung up at CBM that the ex-WWE champ has agreed to join a martial arts zombie film co-written by and starring Cung Le, who Bautista recently worked with on The Man with the Iron Fists. Not many other details are available, so take this one with a grain of salt until some sort of confirmation comes down.
