Lucas Black Returning for Next Three 'Fast & Furious' Films

For fans of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and there are more than just me out there, this is the news you've been waiting for ever since the last film's fiery conclusion. Lucas Black, who took the lead in 'Tokyo Drift' after Vin Diesel and Paul Walker departed, has now been confirmed to reprise his role as Sean Boswell in Fast & Furious 7. And since he's been gone three movies already, he'll make up for lost time by starring all the way up to Fast & Furious 9.

This is the first time we've heard of the possibility of a ninth chapter, proving that Universal has no plans to bring things to a close. Those who understand the F&F chronology know bringing Black into the picture makes sense right now. His character Sean Boswell was an Alabama kid living in Tokyo, and got wrapped up in the street racing scene, where he specialized in "drifting". That film also introduced Han (Sung Kang), but time-wise it took place after the other F&F movies. F&F7 ended by connecting back to 'Tokyo Drift', where things will now move forward in a more natural fashion.

Basically, if you were to watch the F&F films in order, you'd want to go like this....

The Fast and the Furious
2 Fast 2 Furious
Fast & Furious
Fast Five
Fast & Furious 6
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Fast & Furious 7

Now the only question is if we'll also see the return of Bow Bow and his green Incredible Hulk muscle car. Fingers crossed that we don't.  Fast & Furious 7 opens next year on July 11th. [Deadline]
