Poster for Dolph Lundgren and Tony Jaa's 'Skin Trade'
There's something kind of funny about Tony Jaa, who went into seclusion to become a monk at one point, having his own Facebook page. But he knows how to use it, and he's delivered to his fans this early poster for Skin Trade, which was produced, written, and stars Dolph Lundgren.
Lundgren began developing the film years ago, even releasing a pitch trailer back in 2010, and he's brought aboard an interesting crew to make it happen. His Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning director John Hyams co-wrote the script, with Beautiful Boxer director Ekachai Uekrongtham at the helm. What started out as a Russia-set mafia film dealing with human trafficking has been moved over to Bangkok with Jaa coming aboard, so at least the martial artist will feel right at home. Perhaps this is all just even exchange since Lundgren is starring in the Jaa-directed Western, A Man Will Rise, coming out next year. Perhaps we'll be seeing more of Jaa and Lundgren together, perhaps in The Expendables 4? Seems natural, doesn't it?
Skin Trade should open later next year, and as for a U.S. release Jaa says "That is very much the plan". Fingers crossed on that one. Check out the early pitch trailer below, from before Jaa came aboard.
