First Trailer for Nerd Comedy 'Zero Charisma'

Chris Hardwick and the den of geeks over at Nerdist made a splash at Comic-Con when they picked up the rights to Zero Charisma, and one look at the trailer will explain why it's a perfect union. The film centers on the imposing Scott (Sam Eidson), the overbearing leader of a group of D&D nerds who sees his position threatened by the arrival of Miles (Garrett Graham), a cool hipster dork everybody seems to love.

There used to be a time when being considered a nerd was a social disaster, but obviously that's changed and we've seen a number of films attempting to capture the "authentic" nerd experience. Few actually do it, but Zero Charisma seems to nail the many quirks, eccentricities, loneliness, and outside perceptions that come with being part of the nerd community. Clearly this is a comedy, but there's also a real attempt to say something about this very specific culture. In that way the film reminds a lot of the football fanatic dramedy, Big Fan.

Game Masters, get ready to check out Zero Charisma on VOD October 8th, then in theaters October 11th.
