Blake Lively Lands 'The Age of Adaline'; Craig Roberts Joins '22 Jump Street'; Channing Tatum Opens 'Book of Life'

* Blake Lively has stepped up for the title role in The Age of Adaline, a long-developing romantic drama that had previously been set as a starring vehicle for Katherine Heigl. Directed by Lee Toland Krieger (Celeste and Jesse Forever) and co-starring Ellen Burstyn, the story "follows the miraculous life of the 29-year old title character, who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident. Over the 20th century she embarks on an epic but isolated worldwide journey, keeping her secret, until she meets a man who forever alters her life." Lively hasn't had a decent role to chew on since The Town (sorry Savages fans), but this one could be a step in the right direction for her.[Deadline]

* Craig Roberts, who broke out in Richard Ayoade's coming-of-age comedy Submarine, has taken a role in 22 Jump Street. He'll join stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in the cop comedy sequel, which has them going undercover at a university. Roberts will play a character named Spencer, who we don't know anything about yet but will probably be good for a few laughs now. Directed by the returning Phil Lord and Chris Miller, with Ice Cube, Wyatt Russell, and Amber Stevens co-starring, 22 Jump Street opens  June 13th 2014.

* Speaking of Channing Tatum movies, he's now set to lend his voice to Book of Life, the Guillermo Del Toro-produced animated film centered on the Mexican "Day of the Dead". The voice cast has been rounded out by Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Christina Applegate, Eugenio Derbez, Placido Domingo, Hector Elizondo, Gabriel Iglesias, Cheech Marin, Ana de la Reguera, Ricardo “El Mandril” Sanchez and Danny Trejo. Jorge R. Gutierrez is directing what's described as a music-filled Romeo & Juliet love story about a man who must decide between his family's expectations and following his heart. To make his choice he'll need to overcome his fears and explore three fantastical worlds. [THR]
