First Clip and Two New Posters for 'The Wolf of Wall Street'

Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street remains one of the few big mysteries of the Oscar season for a couple of different reasons. For one, we didn't know if the film would even be ready in time, and for awhile it looked like it would get dropped into early 2014 where the sketchier flicks reside. Fortunately that's not happening, and it'll hit theaters next month as expected. But what kind of movie should we be looking out for? Is Scorsese even aiming for this to take home some gold? Or is he just trying to have a bit of fun?

The first clip and a pair of new posters have been released and clearly this is just a chance for Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio to cut loose Goodfellas-style. Written by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire) and based on Jordan Belfort's memoir, the film chronicles the hard-partying New York stockbroker's meteoric rise and chaotic fall after a fraud indictment. The trailers have been pretty insane, and even when the action slows down like in this clip, things are still downright weird. "Honey, you've got my money taped to your boobs so technically you do work for me." If that's the kind of dialogue Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Jean Dujardin, Jon Bernthal, and Jon Favreau are working with this should be a real treat.

The opening bell rings for The Wolf of Wall Street on Christmas Day.
