Joe Dante to Direct Anton Yelchin, Alexandra Daddario, and Ashley Greene in 'Burying the Ex'
Joe Dante has directed a lot of great films in his career, like both Gremlins flicks, Piranha, Innerspace, and my personal favorite The 'Burbs. For whatever reason he fell out of Hollywood's good graces, with his last film 2010's The Hole 3D taking a couple of years before it was basically dumped out where nobody would ever see it. It's still a treat any time Dante takes on a new project, and he's got a promising one with a great cast on the way.
The Wrap reports Dante will bring short film Burying the Ex to the big screen, with Anton Yelchin, Alexandra Daddario, Ashley Greene, and Oliver Cooper starring. Written by Alan Trezza, the film "follows Max (Yelchin) and Evelyn (Greene) as their relationship takes a nose dive once they move in together. Max discovers how controlling and manipulative Evelyn is but he’s too scared to break up with her. When fate steps in and Evelyn dies in a freak accident, newly-single Max prepares to move on with Olivia (Daddario). His romantic life becomes complicated when Evelyn rises from the grave and sets out to get her boyfriend back, even if that means turning him into one of the undead."
Dante knows his way around the horror-comedy realm so this should be a lot of fun. Filming began today for release presumably next year.
