Norman Reedus Rumored for 'The Crow'; Kristen Stewart Rejected for Shelly Role

Before he became everybody's favorite reformed redneck in The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus had been plenty busy in the world of comic book adaptations. While his breakout performances in The Boondock Saints weren't based on any particular graphic novel, the film's story was expanded through a popular two-part comic. Reedus also featured in Blade II and recently voiced The Punisher in Marvel's Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore. So it's perhaps no surprise that he's possibly being courted for a role in the upcoming reboot of The Crow.

Despite the headline by SchmoesKnow,  Reedus will not "be the next Crow", but he's apparently the top choice to play someone named James. We don't know anything more than that, but with Luke Evans already locked in to play slain rocker Eric Draven (he's been tweeting about it lately, too) there's no room for another Crow. What's interesting is that the story also says Kristen Stewart had been sought to play Draven's murdered girlfriend, Shelly, but producers “shied away from the idea after hearing that she wouldn’t attract an audience.” Oh, but Luke Evans puts butts in seats? Say what you will about Stewart, she's got hit movies that don't have the word Twilight anywhere in the title. As usual you should take all of this with the recommended amount of salt.

F. Javier Gutierrez will get The Crow remake rolling next year.
