New Trailer and Optimus Prime Poster for 'Transformers: Age of Extinction'

Through three Transformers movies Michael Bay has kept a fairly consistent tone, one light enough that parents wouldn't mind spending wads of cash on new action figures. Because, really, that's what these movies are all about: merchandising. The kids get their action figures and adults get their cool cars, and everybody walks away happy, especially Paramount with the franchise banking nearly $3B worldwide. But there's something a little bit different about Transformers: Age of Extinction, and it's a tone that is decidedly darker than what we've seen before.

We got our first footage from the film back during the Super Bowl, but now the first full-length trailer has been released featuring tons of Autobot vs. Decepticon action, backed by Bay's visual effects muscle. Along with it comes a new character poster dedicated to Autobot leader, Optimus Prime, who has his robotic hands full now with time travel, the emergence of the Dinbots, and Decepticon evil plans. Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor lead a new human cast that will get in the middle of the fighting.

Transformers: Age of Extinction opens June 27th.
