President Snow Threatens Panem in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Teaser
"Panem today. Panem tomorrow. Panem forever". The first two movies in The Hunger Games series have rightfully taken their place at the top of the YA hill, with both films combining for more than $1.5B worldwide. To put it in perspective, Shailene Woodley's Divergent only has about $270M right now meaning she's got a long way to go to catch up with Jennifer Lawrence. With the final book in Veronica Roth's trilogy being adapted into two separate movies, the marketing for Mockingjay Part 1 has been going on for quite awhile, and now it takes a slightly threatening turn with the latest viral.
Decked out in awesome all-white attire that somehow makes him more menacing, Donald Sutherland returns as President Snow to deliver a TV address to the citizens of Panem. While he mostly talks about forging a perfect union built on togetherness (the spot is called "Together as One" for a reason), Snow can't help but make a thinly-veiled threat to those who may rebel against the Capitol's wishes. There's a mild spoiler in the presence of Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark, who was captured by Snow's men at the end of the last film and is clearly brainwashed or something now.
With new additions Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, and Gwendoline Christie joining the returned cast, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opens November 21st directed by Francis Lawrence.
