New 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Posters Feature Yondu, Nova Prime, and Corpsman Dey

Hard to believe it has been a full year since Marvel revealed the first Guardians of the Galaxy footage at Comic-Con, and it looked fantastic even though filming had only been going on for about a week. Obviously it has improved significantly since then and is now one of the most anticipated event movies of the summer, and it has been treated as such with tons of trailers, TV spots, and images featuring the motley cast led by Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, and Dave Bautista. But we haven't seen much from the colorful supporting cast until today with the release of three new character posters.

Giving Glenn Close's Nova Prime, Michael Rooker's Yondu, and John C. Reilly's Corpsman Dey their moment in the spotlight, the images suggest the Nova Corps will be crucial to the story, possibly as a set up to a solo Nova film. The same goes for Yondu, who is the one that raises Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Pratt) as part of the Ravagers, an intergalactic biker gang of criminals.

Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 1st.
