After much trial and tribulation, filming has finally begun on Marvel's Ant-Man. How do we know? Because of this enthusiastic tweet by director Peyton Reed....

With the whole Edgar Wright fiasco clearly in the rear view, not to mention the equally sudden departure of co-star Patrick Wilson, production is kicking off with a number of big additions to the cast, including one that seems to validate a recent rumor. Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, rapper Tip "T.I." Harris, Wood Harris (The Wire), Gregg Turkington, David Dastmalchian, and John Slattery have joined Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lily, and Corey Stoll in the superhero film which will be kicking off Marvel's third phase. Slattery is already a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Howard Stark, and his addition would seem to confirm a recent rumor about certain SHIELD-related characters appearing. As for everybody else? Nothing on who they could be playing but one of these guys has to be filling in for Wilson.
