Warner Bros. Dates Two More 'Lego' Movies

Warner Bros. owned the headlines yesterday when they revealed eleven new release dates, nine of which were occupied by untitled DC universe movies, while also moving Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice up two months to avoid a showdown with Marvel's Captain America 3. Part of the announcement were two "Untitled WB Event Films" set for 2018 and 2020, with many suspecting these would be for additional sequels to The Lego Movie. But as it turns out Warner Bros. does have plans for more 'Lego', just not on those dates.

Warner Bros. had added May 25th 2018 and May 24th 2019 to their schedule for "Untitled Warner Bros. Animation Films" which THR has learned are for two more 'Lego' movies. One of these is almost certainly The Lego Movie 3, following-up on The Lego Movie 2 which is set for May 26th 2017. The other may be a spinoff similar to the upcoming Ninjago film which has been dated for September 23rd 2016.

The Lego Movie went on to gross $468M worldwide, launching an unexpected franchise that is quickly growing much larger. As long as the toys keep selling and the sequel does as good as the first one, expect Warner Bros. to keep building more Lego flicks.
