First Look at Agent Carter and the Howling Commandos in 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD'

With SHIELD no longer a functioning spy force, the second season of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will delve into the organization's history a little bit. And while they're at it, taking a few minutes to pump up next year's Agent Carter series couldn't hurt. We knew that Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter character would appear on the show this season, but now TV Guide has revealed this new image from Agent of SHIELD's first season two episode, titled 'Shadows', and it shows Carter alongside Captain America's Howling Commandos.

The image features Atwell with Kenneth Choi as Jim Morita and Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, and hopefully that means they'll be part of Agent Carter, too. The episode will have Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) digging into the past to SHIELD's origins, hoping to find bring back the ideals from when the organization was started back in Carter's time. She was a member of a secret government agency that becomes part of SHIELD and winds up on a similar path as Coulson.  Here's the plot synopsis for 'Shadows':

‘Shadows’ – Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources–but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD returns to ABC on September 23rd.
