Zac Efron has stepped up to the plate for a couple of comedies this year in an attempt to snap the "squeaky clean" perception many still had of him. One was the bromantic comedy
That Awkward Moment which failed pretty miserably despite a cast everybody likes. And then the other was the hugely successful
Neighbors in which he terrorized Seth Rogen. That film featured Efron giving a pretty great impersonation of Robert De Niro in
Taxi Driver, and now the two are about to work together in the road trip comedy,
Driving Dick Kelly.
The Wrap reports the duo are in talks for the presumably raunchy comedy, which had been going by the title
Dirty Grandpa back when Michael Douglas and Jeff Bridges were eying the senior citizen role. Now it's De Niro who will take on the role of a perverted Army veteran and widow who tricks his uptight grandson into driving him to Florida for spring break.
