In the works for years, the unusual wedding comedy Honeymoon with Harry seems to have found someone new to walk down the aisle with. Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro had been looking to star in the film with Jonathan Demme directing, but that didn't work out. Now Dan Fogelman, superstar writer behind Crazy Stupid Love, has come aboard to give the script a rewrite. But as for who will direct it, apparently Cooper is looking to do it himself.
Deadline reports that Cooper is interested in making his directorial debut on Honeymoond with Harry, which would have him starring as a former womanizer who changes his ways when he meets the perfect woman. When she dies just before their wedding, he decides to go on their honeymoon anyway to drink himself to death. Instead he encounters her father (De Niro), a man he has never gotten along with, who is there to spread his daughter's ashes.
Yeah, it sounds a little sappy but De Niro and Cooper have always worked well together and apparently are keen to do so again. This also sounds like a simple enough project for Cooper if he does decide to step behind the camera.
