The animated foosball film Metegol has been kicking around for awhile, but it finally released in Argentina last year and became the highest-grossing Argentinian movie ever, which is good because it was also the most expensive. While the prospects for it here in America remain something of a mystery, it has been retitled Underdogs and given superstar voice cast that you can hear in the new English-language trailer.
Oscar-winning director Juan Jose Campanella (The Secret In Their Eyes) brings to America the story of Jake, a shy and talented foosball player who must defend his town and the girl he loves from his evil rival, Ace. To do it he'll need to join forces with the toy figures from his favorite foosball table, who have magically come to life. The film features the voices of Matthew Morrisson, Ariana Grande, Bella Thorne, Nicholas Hoult, Katie Holmes, and John Lequizamo.
Underdogs hits theaters on April 10th.
