The '90s are Back in Trailer for 'Dope' Starring Tony Revolori, Zoe Kravitz, and Shameik Moore

Remember the '90s and all the movies about crime, drugs, and growing up in the "hood"? The days of Boyz 'N the Hood and Menace II Society may have long passed, but Rick Famuyiwa is looking to make it new again with Dope, his new new film which is debuting at Sundance later this week and already is gaining a ton of buzz.

Looking like a cross between Famuyiwa's directorial debut, The Wood, and the classic Ice Cube comedy Friday, Dope centers on Malcolm, a high school geek with a high-top fade, Cross Colours, and an appreciation for anything old school. But it also makes him stand out from the pack, and that's not always a good thing when you're living in The Bottoms, one of the toughest areas in Inglewood, CA. The film stars Shameik Moore, Zoe Kravitz, Tony Revolori, A$AP Rocky, Blake Anderson, Keith Stanfield, and Kiersey Clemons.

People are asking me about this film the same way they did Dear White People last year, but can Dope be a breakout hit in the same way? Stay on the look out for my review of Dope! [EW]
