James Franco Makes a Date for Stephen King's '11/22/63'

It's never easy to predict what James Franco will turn up in next. Maybe it will be a silly post-apocalyptic comedy with his pals, a Jason Statham action movie, or a film about an identity-swapping murderer. But it's doubtful anybody expected he'd be leading a TV series, especially not an adaptation of Stephen King's novel, 11/22/63, which was recently announced to be headed to Hulu.

Franco will headline the Hulu Original Series, which is expected to be nine one-hour episodes produced by JJ Abrams' Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. TV. 11/22/63 will star Franco as English teacher Jake Epping who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. But his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald and the fact that the timeline itself seems to be fighting back.

This is hardly Franco's first foray into television, although he hasn't really done anything since the days of Freaks and Geeks or his stint on General Hospital. He'll be seen on the big screen next in the drama True Story opposite Jonah Hill and Felicity Jones.
