Marion Cotillard Joins Michael Fassbender in 'Assassin's Creed'
Other than Christopher Nolan's Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, we haven't seen Marion Cotillard venture into blockbuster territory often. But if she's going to do it, what better way to do it than opposite Michael Fassbender in the video game adaptation, Assassin's Creed?
Cotillard will reteam with Fassbender and director Justin Kurzel, who she just recently worked with on Macbeth. The big screen version of Assassin's Creed will follow the plot of the first game, which centers on a bartender named Desmond Miles, who is kidnapped by a secret organization and forced to use a machine known as the Animus. It allows him to jump back into the body of an ancestor who happened to be an assassin during the time of the Crusades.
No word on Cotillard's role but if she was up for it chances are it's pretty juicy, and may call for her to return for sequels. Assassin's Creed opens December 21st 2016. [Deadline]
