It doesn't happen often, but every now and then a movie slips completely beneath my radar. Sometimes that works out for the best, sometimes not, but in the case of Beyond the Reach this might be a tight little B-movie thriller worth seeking out.
Starring Michael Douglas in what looks like a nasty twist on his Gordon Gekko character, he plays a wealthy, entitled businessman who goes on a hunting expedition with a seasoned tracker played by Jeremy Irvine. But when the rich guy accidentally kills someone, he makes his impoverished guide the next target.
We haven't seen Douglas chew scenery like this in awhile, and it definitely looks like a step up from his last role in And So It Goes and a fun bridge to Marvel's Ant-Man. Directed by Jean-Baptiste Léonetti, Beyond the Reach hits VOD on April 17th.
