Nicolas Winding Refn's LA horror The Neon Demon was originally to star Carey Mulligan, but the project was recently revealed to be moving forward with Elle Fanning in the lead role. Now the cast is getting even better with the addition of Keanu Reeves, Jena Malone, Christina Hendricks, Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows) and Abbey Lee.
Plot details are still being kept under wraps but Fanning reportedly plays an aspiring model who is caught in a world of beauty and demise. Hendricks is an old hand working with Refn as she had a co-starring role in Drive, while Reeves was supposed to work with him some time ago on a Jekyll and Hyde film that never developed.
Filming begins next month with Cliff Martinez providing the score and Philippe Le Sourd as cinematographer. [Variety]
