Robert Zemeckis to Direct Brad Pitt in Steven Knight's 'Sweeping Romantic Thriller'

Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Locke) is one of today's most sought after screenwriters, but chances are he's looking for a way to make everyone forget he wrote Seventh Son and The Hundred-Foot Journey. Fortunately, he may have found just the right way to do it with Brad Pitt and Robert Zemeckis coming aboard his next film.

Zemeckis will direct Pitt in a "sweeping romantic thriller" that Knight has written. No other details are available at the moment, but it sounds like the Knight-scripted movie Pitt was on board for last April. Looks like they've found the "big director" they were looking for.

Filming is set to begin this fall. Pitt and Knight are currently working on the screenplay for a World War Z sequel, while Zemeckis is putting the finishing touches on The Walk starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. [TheWrap]
