'Rocky' Spinoff 'Creed' Set for Thanksgiving; 'Point Break' Remake Bumped to Christmas

It might sound crazy, but my most anticipated non-superhero movie this year might be Creed, the Rocky spinoff from the Fruitvale Station duo of Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan. Warner Bros. has set the film, which has Sylvester Stallone back as the famous boxer, for release on November 25th. The film also stars Tessa Thompson (Dear White People), and has Rocky training the talented grandson of his late friend, Apollo Creed. I think the concept is a slick way of continuing the Rocky franchise while spinning it in a different direction.

Also, Warner Bros. has moved that Point Break remake you didn't want. No, they didn't move it completely off the calendar, they've bumped it to Christmas Day as a way of escaping Paramount's Mission: Impossible 5 which recently moved up to July 31st 2015. Point Break is directed by Ericson Core and stars Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez.
