Marc Webb Takes Over as Director of 'Limitless' CBS Pilot

Things aren't looking so hot for Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, which may be why Marc Webb is seeking employment elsewhere. He's already set to direct Miles Teller in The Only Living Boy in New York, and now he's taking over as director of CBS' pilot for Limitless.

The series is based on the hit 2011 film which starred Bradley Cooper as an average guy who ingested a drug that turned him into a genius. Neil Burger directed the film and was to helm the pilot but he's still busy working on the Showtime pilot, Billions. And because this is CBS, they've managed to turn Limitless into just another of their easily-digestible crime procedurals by having the lead character solve cases with the FBI. Burger is still on board as a producer along with Cooper, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Craig Sweeny who also wrote the script. [Deadline]
