For years Ben Stiller has been chatting up his hopes to return to the fashion world with Zoolander 2, but the sequel has been off and on for years. But last fall some definite movement took place when Penelope Cruz suddenly joined the cast, although still nothing had been made official. Well all of that ended today as Stiller and Owen Wilson hit the Valentino runway in character for Paris Fashion Week to announce that Zoolander 2 is happening.
Paramount Pictures has made official a February 12th 2016 release date for the sequel which will see most of the major cast returning. Owen Wilson is back as Derek Zoolander's rival/friend Hansel, Christine Taylor as his girlfriend Matilda, and Will Ferrell as villain Mugatu. Justin Theroux, who had a small role in the first film, will step behind the camera as director.
Expect plenty of news on Zoolander 2 in the coming days as production will need to begin soon.
