When Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (review here) hit theaters in 2013 (here in the US last year) it was the franchise's first theatrical film in 18 years. They aren't waiting nearly as long for a follow-up as Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F (Resurrection of F) arrives in Japan later this year. Considering the last movie made over $50M, and did well in the U.S. in very limited showings, expect a stateside arrival at some point.
A new trailer gives Dragon Ball fans their first look at the villain Frieza, who is out for revenge and ramping up his power levels to get it. In fact, this will be the time when he finally unveils his all-powerful gold form to battle the Super Saiyan might of Goku.I've long since lost track of where things are with Dragon Ball, but I'm guessing this will require Goku to go even further than the Super Saiyan god form he took in 'Battle of Gods'. Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F will be released in IMAX in Japan on April 18th.
