It took awesome UFC champ Ronda Rousey (hey, I'm a fan) all of 14 seconds to whoop Cat Zingano's ass Saturday night, and that leaves a lot of time to do other things like sign movie deals. Rousey's next fight will be in the film Mile 22, and it will be alongside The Raid star Iko Uwais.
Lone Survivor's Peter Berg will produce the crime film which centers on a CIA field officer and an Indonesian police officer forced to work together as they confront violent and extreme political corruption. Presumably we'll get a chance to see Rousey in action longer than she was in her last fight. The plot sounds pretty basic, and doesn't immediately suggest there will be any The Raid-style brawls taking place. But surely they won't waste the opportunity to let Rousey and Uwais do what they do best.
Rousey, who recently appeared in The Expendables 3, will be seen next in Furious 7, while Uwais has the sequel Beyond Skyline, a role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Gareth Evans' next film, Blister. [Variety]
