First Look at Dylan O'Brien in 'The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'

Want to know what the highest grossing non-Hunger Games YA film was last year? It wasn't Divergent. It was The Maze Runner (which I loved), hitting a surprisingly strong $340M and setting 20th Century Fox on a course to fast track the sequel, The Scorch Trials, which opens later this year on September 18th. Filming has already begun and now EW has revealed the first images which show stars Dylan O'Brien (also a contender for Marvel's Spider-Man), Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Ki Hong Lee.

The first film was pretty inventive and built an intriguing mystery surrounding a group of boys (and one girl) trapped in a gigantic maze. Now they've managed to escape, but The Scorch Trials finds them in another treacherous landscape controlled by the powerful organization known as W.C.K.D.

Wes Ball is returning to direct, and presumably he'll be back for The Maze Runner: The Death Cure, which Fox is already moving forward on. James Dashner wrote a fourth book, a prequel titled The Kill Order, that came out in 2012, and has a fifth book arriving in 2016. Franchise!!!!
