Fresh off casting Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, the Arrow/Flash spinoff series has now found its resident time traveler. British actor Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) has been cast as Rip Hunter in the team-up series featuring some familiar faces and a handful of brand new ones.
Rip Hunter was suspected to be part of the show's lineup when a casting breakdown was released some days ago that detailed a character known as "traveler". Hunter is the DC Universe's most notable time traveler, taking it upon himself to fix errors in the timestream. In the series he'll hide the weight of this gigantic responsibility with charm and wit. Many expect that the next character to be cast will be the African-American hero, Static Shock.
He joins Brandon Routh, Ciara Renee, Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber, Dominic Purcell, and Caity Lotz in the series which is aiming for a midseason premiere. [Deadline]
