James O'Barr Talks 'The Crow' Cast, Soundtrack, and Plot Details
Over the last couple of years we've seen The Crow creator James O'Barr take a hands on approach with the oft-troubled big screen remake. That hasn't exactly ironed out all of the problems, but at least the man who knows the character best is able to lend some insights. Plus, O'Barr seems to be willing to keep fans updated on the film's progress, recently confirming that Jack Huston had won the lead role. Now he's spilling even more details, including who will be Huston's female co-star.
During a panel at the Lexington Comic-Con, O'Barr revealed that Downton Abbey and Winter's Tale star Jessica Brown Findlay had joined the cast. She'll likely take on the slain girlfriend of Eric Draven, who comes back from the dead to avenge their murder. With British director Corin Hardy at the helm it's expected that the cast will be made up of Brits for the most part.
O'Barr also revealed that a Game of Thrones actor is part of the cast, although he declined to say who it was (I'm betting Ciaran Hinds). He also says the film will stick closer to the comic, from the Joy Division soundtrack all the way to the talking bird. And of course, if the film is a hit he wants there to be sequels...hopefully better sequels than what we got after Alex Proyas' 1994 film.
O'Barr says filming on The Crow begins this spring.
