Whether he's screwing up Idina Menzel's name, inappropriately touching faces, or whatever, John Travolta is probably the butt of jokes more often than a guy trying to mount a career comeback would like. Granted, his output over the last few years has been miserable (Old Dogs, Savages, Killing Season, From Paris with Love), but maybe he'll hit on something decent with heist thriller, The Forger, which has a really strong cast.
Directed by Philip Martin and co-starring Christopher Plummer, Abigail Spencer, Tye Sheridan, and Jennifer Ehle, The Forger follows the world's best art forger who agrees to pull of an impossible heist in exchange for early release from prison. To achieve it he'll need help from his father and son, and even they might not be enough.
The trailer is solid but reviews out of TIFF were less than kind. Not sure what's going on with Travolta's hair or that demonic soul patch he's sporting, but whatever. The Forger opens exclusively on DirecTV on March 26th, then VOD and theaters on April 24th.
