Kristen Stewart Joins Michelle Williams in Kelly Reichardt's Next Film

It was only a week ago that Kristen Stewart became the first American actress to win France's Cesar Award for her great work on Olivier Assayas' Clouds of Sils Maria. Over the last few years we've seen Stewart working with some of today's to auteurs, and a win like that is validation of the career path she's taken. So why stop there? Now Stewart is boarding the next film from Wendy & Lucy, Old Joy, Night Moves, and Meek's Cutoff director Kelly Reichardt.

The cast for the Montana-set drama, possibly titled Helena and Montana, is already great with Michelle Williams, Laura Dern, Timothy Olyphant, James Le Gros, Jared Harris, and Sara Rodier. What's starting to become apparent is that there may not be a true headliner, as the film is a series of vignettes centering on small-town people. Stewart plays Beth, a Boise lawyer who takes a teaching job hours away despite being nervous about it. She soon becomes friends with the woman auditing her class.

Details about other roles have been revealed as well, with Dern playing a lawyer in a bad relationship with married man. Williams plays the man's wife, who works with her husband in advertising. And in what sounds like it comes from a different movie, Harris plays a construction worker injured on the job who starts plotting a hostage attempt.

Filming will take place in Montana, and already this is a project worth looking forward to.
