Jake Gyllenhaal Is 'The Lost Airman' For Amazon Studios

Let's just say Jake Gyllenhaal has been on a pretty good run. Life was much better than the box office would have you think (Seriously, go check it out.), to go along with Prisoners, Enemy, Nocturnal Animals, and Nightcrawler. He's taking on whatever inspires him, it seems, including Netflix's upcoming monster film, Okja. And as for what's coming up after, he'll head on over to Amazon Studios for a war movie.

Gyllenhaal will star in The Lost Airman, an adaptation of the novel by Seth Meyerowitz about American WWII turret-gunner  Arthur Meyerowitz, who was shot down over France in 1943. Taken in by France's most legendary resistance group, Morhange, he evaded capture by the Gestapo for six months before making his escape.

So far there's no writer or director on board, but with award-winning Birdman producer John Lesher on board, along with Gyllenhaal of course, that shouldn't be a problem. [THR]
