Ridley Scott's Son to Direct Kate Mara and Anya Taylor-Joy in Sci-Fi Film 'Morgan'
It seems everybody in the Fantastic Four is keeping their dance card full these days. Now Kate Mara, who plays Sue Storm in the comic book film, has signed on for sci-fi thriller Morgan, which will be directed by Ridley Scott's son, Luke Scott.
Scott will be making his directorial debut on the film which features a screenplay by Seth Owen that was on the 2014 Black List. What is perhaps the most intriguing part of this story is Mara's co-star, Anya Taylor-Joy, who gave a dynamite breakthrough performance in period horror The Witch (review here) at Sundance. The story, which sounds a lot like The Thing meets Aliens, follows a corporate risk-management consultant who is summoned to a remote research lab to determine whether or not to terminate an at-risk artificial being.
This may be Scott's first feature but he has experience behind the camera. He acted as second unit director in his father's latest film, Exodus: Gods and Kings. [THR]
