'Wet Hot American Summer' and The Wachowskis' 'Sense8' get Netflix Release Dates
Let's be frank here: you'll never see another $180M movie from the Wachowskis again. Not after the shit sandwich that was Jupiter Ascending. My thinking has been the wild, grand concepts the siblings want so desperately to talk about would be better in a serial format. Obviously Netflix agreed and gave them their own series, Sense8, and now we know when you'll be able to binge watch it and what brand of craziness it will involve.
Sense8 will hit Netflix on June 5th, and already it sounds bizarre. Here's the newly released synopsis:
"One gunshot, one death, one moment out of time that irrevocably links eight minds in disparate parts of the world, putting them in each other's lives, each other's secrets, and in terrible danger. Ordinary people suddenly reborn as "Sensates.""
Okay. Hopefully audiences will be able to make heads or tails of this. Maybe the Wachowskis have found themselves a new home where things like box office simply don't matter.
Meanwhile, Netflix has also revealed that David Wain's Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp will arrive on July 17th. The series will reunite the entire cast of the cult classic 2001 comedy starring Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Christopher Meloni, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, and many more.
