Darth Vader Returns in the 'Star Wars Rebels' Season Two Trailer
After getting off to a slow start, season one of Star Wars Rebels really picked up in the final episodes. As we learned more about the fate of the Jedi and the battle with the Empire became more dangerous, we also saw that Darth Vader would be playing a much bigger role. That can only mean bad things to come for Kanan, Ezra, and the rest of the team. Fans who attended Star Wars Celebration were lucky enough to preview the first two episodes of the next season, and now there's also a very revealing trailer of what's in store.
The footage, which clocks in at a lengthy 3 1/2 minutes, promises more Vader (voiced by James Earl Jones), and features the return of Captain Rex from the animated Clone Wars series. Remember, the show takes place prior to the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, so the events taking place have lasting impact.
There's no exact date for when Star Wars Rebels will return, but it's expected to be some time this summer. I couldn't stand The Clone Wars (the original series was far superior) and thought I'd feel the same way about 'Rebels', but boy was that a mistake. They're finding just the right balance between playful and serious, but I like that this next season seems to be drawing closer ties to the Star Wars universe as a whole.
