There's no question the combination of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone sets the hotness quotient off the charts. They had remarkable chemistry in Crazy Stupid Love, but they couldn't recapture that same magic in Gangster Squad, although that film was pretty bad all around. Still, people want to see these two together, and now they may get another chance as part of Whiplash director Damien Chazelle's next film, La La Land.
You may recall that Miles Teller and Emma Watson were pegged for the film last summer, but that appears to have changed. Teller recently signed on Jonathan Levine's adaptation of Home is Burning, while Watson is busy with Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast. If Chazelle manages to land Stone and Gosling, and no deals are in place just yet, it will give his film a much bigger boost. La La Land is described as a song-and-dance romance about a cocky jazz pianist and an aspiring actress who fall in love in cutthroat contemporary Los Angeles.
Filming had initially been set for a couple of months ago, but now the plan is to get rolling in the fall. [Deadline]
