Blumhouse's specialty has been the low budget horror, banking as much as hundreds of millions of dollars on films costing less than $10M. It all started with Paranormal Activity back in 2009, and they've since added the likes of The Purge, Oculus, Ouija, Whiplash (yep, the Oscar-nominated one), and many more to their impressive roster. Over the weekend at WonderCon they revealed the first footage from Sinister 2, but they also dropped a clip from Insidious: Chapter 3 which is a prequel taking the horror franchise back to the beginning.
While prior director James Wan is off basking in the glory of Furious 7's record-breaking opening weekend, his buddy Leigh Whannell took over Insidious' directing reins. He also reprises his role as one of the ghostbusting duo that assists psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) as she uses her talents to help another family terrorized by demonic spirits connected to The Further.
Also starring Stefanie Scott, Dermot Mulroney, and Angus Sampson, Insidious: Chapter 3 opens June 5th.
