James Badge Dale has been one of Hollywood's top character actors for a couple of years now, stealing scenes in everything from Iron Man 3 to World War Z to The Lone Ranger. Maika Monroe is the red-hot star of the horror smash, It Follows, and has also done tremendous work in At Any Price and The Guest. Put them together and you've got two reasons to be very intrigued by Echoes of War, a Western set in Civil War-era Texas.
Written and directed by Australian filmmaker Kane Senes, the film follows a Confederate soldier (Dale) returned from the fighting, only to get into another war with a neighboring family that have been stealing cattle. This looks like a tough little revenge flick, and with William Forsythe growling through a supporting turn it could also be a lot of fun.
Echoes of War hits theaters and VOD on May 15th.
